DESCRIPTION OF ITINERARY:
DAY 01: CUSCO – HUMANTAY LAKE: Early morning a driver and guide will pick you up from the hotel in Cusco (Peru) then you will be driven to Soraypampa which is located 121km away from Cusco, during the journey we will take a paved road, passing the local villages of Poroy, Anta, Limatambo, until detour to Mollepata village (85km), from where we turn to right, taking an unpaved to Soraypampa (35km), but on the way we stop for breakfast at Mollepata village. Afterwards we continue to Soraypampa (parking), which is the beggining of the trail. From here we take the trailhead to Humantay Lake, hiking for almost 2km along the route, immerse in high mountains of Peru.
We arrive to Humantay Lake which is 4200m. The lake is fed by the mountain glaciers of Humantay, that is why the color of lake is turquoise due to the mineral found at the bottom. Then, we continue to hike downhill to the trailhead, where our transport is taking back to restaurant for lunch prepared with local products.
WHAT IS INCLUDED: Private transportation from Cusco to Humantay Lake, buffet breakfast & lunch, entrance fees. Besides pre-trip information + organization and all local sales taxes. There are no hidden extras in our prices.
NOT INCLUDED: Tour guide (translator), horse hiring (US$23 or S/80 PEN), extras, tips.
